From the feed back classmates have given it looks like we're going to have an awesome turnout!!!!
Remember, no tickets (cover). Pass on any information to fellow classmate and encourage them to come. We try our best to contact everyone but sometime it's just not possible to do so.
The reunion is being held at The Log Cabin on Friday (7/3/15) night. Planned start time is 8pm to allow our class a little more freedom after the dinner rush. More info to come on any pre party happy hours.....
Thanks

25th Reunion UPDATE
We have received a lot of feed back and suggestions in regards to our, GHS Class of 1990, 25th Class Reunion. This has resulted in a few changes from the 20th Reunion. Applying these changes should provide a reunion classmate want. Reviewing the response from classmates. Many plan to attend and it looks to be a very promising turn out.
Here’s a breakdown of the changes:
- No Entertainment (DJ) The Log Cabin has it’s own music available. This will save the class about $900 or ($9 per person in a ticket price)
- No venue fee. The Log Cabin will not require a deposit and will not impose a minimum party fee. Instead, The Log Cabin will offer their menu for individual purchase. This will save the class $800-$1200 or ($8-$12 per person ticket price)
- No Class Memento or Class Books. These types of items will be available for order at the reunion for individual purchase.
This means NO TICKETS!!!! It will not cost classmates a dime to attend the reunion. The venue is free. Food and drink is on you.
Also, if anyone wants to organize other events before or after as done before. Please do.
Thanks,
Rich McIntosh

25th Reunion
Hello GHS 1990 Classmates,
Wow, its hard to believe that this June will be 25 years since we graduated from GHS.
There was talk 5 years ago at our 20th reunion that many would attend a 25th reunion. Also, others that couldn’t attend the 20th have inquired about the possibility of a 25th reunion. Here’s the following up with this initial interest.
The 25th reunion party will be held at the Log Cabin in Gladstone on Friday the 3rd of July, 2015. Saturdays have traditionally been reserved for such an event but I doubt many would be interested in attending on the 4th of July. Other weekends where considered but the 4th weekend was chosen to allow for greater participation from those that no longer call the Upper Peninsula their home and allow more to participate.
To proceed now. A tentative head count needs to be done. This will allow for final preparations of the party and calculating the admission price. The target for admission ($) would be less than the 20th. Possibly in the area of $15-$20. The biggest contributing factor of lower admission prices is based on not having a DJ (i.e. entertainment). Several attendees of the 20th communicated they would rather not have had the noise allowing for easier conversations with classmates.
Please contact via (message on facebook or blog, email, or phone text) if you plan to attend. Confirming your attendance is very important to the planning process.

Blisters 4 Boobs
Kerri Martin Edwards is out there making a difference. The last 4 years she has participated in the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60 mile walk. In these events she has walked 240 miles and raised over $12,000... The monies raised come from donations and fundraising events (tutu's, shirts, brat stands, happy hours, on and on....)
And most of us like boobies... win win....

One Classy of 1990 Lady...
I remember this summer at the reunion a lot of classmates expressing concern for Yvette. Well, she's a tough girl and a lot of us have been lucky enough to interact with her on facebook and other mediums. I know many of you are still afraid of the naked lady machine so this is for you....
A blog has been created for friends and family of Yvette's to check-in on her from time to time.. you can leave a message or just find out how things are going...
Also, as you can imagine the fight Yvette is enduring is not only emotionally and physically draining, but economically as well.. There is an area on the blog for donations. It never has to me much.. it all adds up. Personally, I don't know how she can do it all.. and just thinking of her family coming up on the holidays I can't bear to imagine how difficult it will be.. I know she can and will make it all happen, but it would sure be nice to make it a little easier on her.. after the last couple of years I think she's earned a break...
Thank you for taking the time to read my gooble-de-goop... and please take the time to check in on an old dear friend....

Note on Invitations
Mailed invitations are not being sent out. A few classmates may get something in the mail only because the organizers of this event didn’t have an email or phone number to contact the classmate.
Please keep in mind that it’s been 20 years and there is not a big book of records that someone has been updating with everyones contact information since 1990. Also, our class does not have the resources ($$$) to hire a service to find everyone.
It is not the intention of the people involved in organizing this event to leave anyone out (even Joyce). Unfortunately, some classmates have not been directly notified of the reunion but it’s the hope of the organizers enough information has been put out there for classmates to make arrangement to attend the reunion. If you know someone in our class that has not been contacted, please assure them they are included. Basically, if you attended GHS with a graduation maturity year of 1990 your welcome and if you don’t know, you’re welcome too.
Just the fact that I’m involved should prove options are limited. Most of the work has been done by a very few of our classmates that really cares about you and they have done a great job over the last year in their spare time.
Please pass on any information to our fellow classmates that you can. Our class has a facebook page, a blog, and announcements have been posted in the Daily Press.
Thank you to everyone that has supported this effort to get together. I think we are going to have a great weekend. I hope to see everyone July 2nd at Gibby’s and/or July 3rd at the Bluff.
Rich McIntosh - Not your class President... I’m just the dude that dated your sister....

Only 30 Days Left!!!
Hi Everyone! Hope you're enjoying the long Memorial Day Weekend!!
It's hard to believe that we've been out of school for nearly 20 years, let alone that the reunion is less than 6 weeks away!!!
We wanted to give everyone an update on what the plans are for the reunion.
Time
Friday July 2 7:30 pm We are planning an "informal" gathering @ Gibby's in Gladstone
Saturday July 3 9am There has been some interest in doing the Firecracker run. There was a bit more interest when we thought the run was a 5K - but we found out it was a 5 Mile.....
July 3 to be determined Tour of the "New" high school
July 3 6:30pm ~ Reunion get together at the Terrace Bluff Golf Course. There will be a variety of buffet styled hot and cold appetizers available. There will be a DJ as well as a cash bar.
We are putting together a "Memory Book" about where everyone has been and what they've been doing. You'll find an attachment with a questionnaire for us to do this at the end of this email. Please be assured that NONE of this information will be used for anything other than the booklet that we are handing out at the reunion. It will not be used as public information nor will it be placed on the internet. Please fill this out and email it back by June 12th.
We are also planning on getting some T-shirts made. There seems to be a decent amount of interest in this, which will keep our cost relatively cheap. The more we order, the more cheaper they are to purchase. Please let me know if you'd like one - and the size. I need the money - before I order them ~ so I can have them ordered, made and picked up before the reunion. I will try to have a picture posted - so you can see them. It looks like the cost will be about $10 a piece. Please keep in mind - this is all for fun. None of this stuff is making money for the class.
We're open to suggestions for the T-shirt. Thinking about something like "Once a Brave, always a Brave....GHS Class of 1990 ~ 20 years later" Please send suggestions!
Thanks and have a great day!!
Kerri
Please Registar ASAP to help with planning and cash flow.. We have a PayPal site or you can mail a check to Jill Zumbrock.. Info can be found in the upper right corner of this page or by emailing me at mcintosh@yahoo.com.. ($25 per person)
A class questionnaire can be found on this page..
Also we need help finding the following classmates..

Terri Roman

James Chenier’s Summary
Automotive and Heavy Duty Executive with experience in coaching colleagues, clients and students to higher levels of performance.
It is my belief that change begins by understanding the real business issues and behavioral dynamics, then executing strategy development and real business results.
I believe that real break-throughs and leaders are created when we put determining the "why" before acting on the "how". My belief is that you can teach old organizations new tricks but you first have to discover why they're so enamored with the old ones.
Forever grateful for and committed to mentoring, coaching and higher education, I dedicate my time and resources to the two institutions of higher automotive learning from which I graduated - Ferris State University (BS) and Northwood University (MBA).

Our hope is that providing a date almost a year in advance... people that want to attend can make plans to do so.. also, it's the typical weekend that prior class have chosen.. Most (not all) agree the the 4th of July weekend: 1.) Nets the most attendees 2.) Fits most attendees plans.. 3.) It's actually nice in the UP at that time of year...

Group Photo From The 10 Year
Thank you to all that made it to the Class of 1990 ten year reunion!!! Hopefully everyone in this pic and more can make it to the twentieth on JULY 3, 2010 at The Bluff Country Club...
Alan Dementer Awarded The Bronze Star
Amazing the things you find out about your classmates.. Congratulations Alan!!! Hope to see you in July and shake your hand..
The day started out badly for Petty Officer 2nd Class Alan Dementer while he served with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment near Nasiriyah, Iraq. And it never got any better.
By the end of that day, March 26, 2003, Dementer would end up with shrapnel in his shoulder and leg, but his actions taking care of wounded Marines would earn him the Bronze Star with “V.”
Dementer’s morning began with a call to evacuate some wounded Marines. As he was preparing to leave, the Navy corpsman found that his rifle wasn’t working properly so he had to scramble to borrow another.
After a couple more trips to treat more wounded through the day, Dementer and a few fellow corpsmen, who were based in Camp Lejeune, N.C., settled in for a quiet evening in their tent.
The unit’s armorer sat working on Dementer’s rifle when mortar rounds started to hit their position.
“All of a sudden, one hit next to the tent and shrapnel hit near the chief,” he said, “and we hit the deck.”
The sailors left the unprotected tent and found themselves in the thick of an enemy attack. “Two trucks were on fire,” he said. “Tracers were flying everywhere.”
Mortars, bullets and rocket-propelled grenades were hitting in the camp.
“Marines were yelling ‘corpsman up’ in a 360-degree radius,” said Dementer, a 13-year Navy veteran. “They were hit all over the place.”
Dementer and the other corpsmen responded to the calls.
“There were so few of us (corpsmen) … [we decided] to bring them to us,” he said about the wounded.
Almost immediately, a nearby machine gun position was hit with what Dementer believes was an rocket-propelled grenade.
One corpsman went to pull the wounded to safety. Dementer went to get his medical supply bag, which was kept in a nearby ambulance.
“I overshot the ambulance,” he said. “Then a mortar landed in the middle of the courtyard not 25 yards away. Shrapnel broke the concrete … and knocked me square over on my back.”
Small pieces of shrapnel had embedded in his shoulder and leg.
“I didn’t realize I was hit,” said the Gladstone, Mich., native. “I rolled over and scooted back.” Grabbing his bag, he made his way back to the other corpsmen.
A wounded gunnery sergeant then came over to their position and said his Marines were pinned down next to the south wall.
“I said ‘Roger that,’ and grabbed my medic bag with extra bandages and took off to the south wall,” he said.
Dementer stopped to patch up one or two wounded Marines, he said, before making it to the wall. There, a lieutenant waited to hoist him to the other side, which was under direct enemy fire.
“There was a couple second lull in the fire,” Dementer said, “and I jumped over the wall.”
He treated six wounded Marines on that side of the wall, eventually evacuating them to the battalion aid station, and was credited with helping 31 wounded Marines that night.
